Transcription: Louisbourg is one of Canada's oldest fortresses and early settlements. It was first established by Louis XIV in the 1720s as the site which would guard the St. Lawrence Seaway Passage and protect France's interests in the New World. Since its first construction, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Today, it's one of Canada's thriving early settlement tourist sites.
